Turn your OPERA block into a proposal

With two-way connectivity, you can turn your OPERA Cloud blocks into proposals instantly. Send proposals directly from OPERA Cloud, respond to RFPs faster, and reduce manual work and errors.

There are two workflows available when using the OPERA Cloud integration. This guide explains how to create a proposal by starting with a block in OPERA Cloud and importing it into Proposales. If you prefer to create blocks in Proposales and send them to OPERA Cloud instead, refer to the corresponding Article.

How to Send a Proposal Starting from an OPERA Cloud Block

Follow these steps to sync your block from OPERA Cloud to Proposales:

1. Create Your Block in OPERA Cloud

Start by creating a block in OPERA Cloud with everything you want to offer your client. This may include accommodation, catering packages, items, menus, and more.

Make sure the block is linked to a contact or company in OPERA Cloud

2. Sync the Block with Proposales

You can sync your block in two ways:

Option 1: Import via Block ID

  • Copy the Block ID from OPERA Cloud

  • Open Proposales and select the template you want to use

  • Paste the Block ID into the OPERA Cloud panel

  • Click Import

Option 2: Use the Flex Link

  • In OPERA Cloud, click Create Proposal using the Flex Link

  • (See the Flex Link setup guide if needed)

  • Select your template

  • The block information will sync automatically when the proposal opens

3. Review and Edit the Proposal

After syncing, all block details will be imported into your proposal, including:

  • Function spaces

  • Accommodation and catering packages

  • Associated resources

  • Event notes (if added in OPERA Cloud)

  • Contact or company details as the proposal recipient

You can edit:

  • Header

  • Introduction text

  • Product titles and descriptions

However, pricing and core details imported from OPERA Cloud cannot be changed.

4. Edit an Existing Proposal (If Needed)

To make changes after syncing:

  1. Update the block in OPERA Cloud first

  2. Then choose one of the following options:

Option A:

  • Open Proposales

  • Click New Version

  • Re-sync the proposal

  • Send again

Option B:

  • Open the proposal via the Flex Link

  • Click Re-sync

  • Send the updated version

5. Send the Proposal

When your proposal is ready, click Send to deliver it to your client.

6. Track Proposal Status

Once the recipient accepts or declines the proposal, the block status in OPERA Cloud will automatically update based on your configured settings.

πŸ§‘β€πŸ« Quick Tip!

Make sure your block has the correct status before importing it. Blocks that are already marked as definite bookings cannot be imported.

Also, keep in mind that each proposal requires a unique Block ID. The same block cannot be imported more than once.
